Music Night At The Majestic- About Us
Music Night At The Majestic has had an interesting path to becoming a web series.
Michael used to have friends, who are also music fanatics, over to his house. They would listen to music, watch music documentaries and share the latest bands they had found. These get togethers became known as "Music Night".
At the end of 2019, there became interest from several radio networks in bringing Music Night to the air. And all of a sudden, "Music Night" became "Music Night At The Majestic" and evolved into a two-hour weekly radio program, recorded live with a studio audience, in the historic Majestic Theater" in Kankakee, IL. Each week, Michael would be joined by three 'regular folks' who were passionate about music. Each guest would bring their favorite album or playlist and one segment of the show would be focused on them. A celebrity guest would join by video feed as well. The show would open with a thematic segment chosen at random by an audience member. In between segments, Michael would play music trivia with the audience. The winners would then be on stage for a segment during hour two of the show to play music trivia for prizes. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic hit before all the required demo episodes could be produced, ending any chance to record with an audience and postponing production indefinitely.
Flashforward to June 2020. Music Night At The Majestic evolves once again, this time as a weekly web series. It's anyone's guess where the show is headed next!

Music Night At The Majestic- Your Host, Michael Boswell
Michael has had a life long passion for music. He has been lucky enough to turn his avocation into a vocation.
"I'm a lucky guy," says Michael. "I've loved music as long as I can remember and now I get to do a weekly web series about my passion. I was three when I insisted I had to have Glen Campbell's "Galveston" album and I haven't stopped adding to my collection since."
Life is a journey and Michael's trek has taken him to radio, where he created the highly successful syndicated program, "Country Flashback". That program aired on 110 stations across the U.S. and Canada. While writing and producing that series, Michael was also a writer for a country music magazine. His notoriety earned him a spot as moderator for "Country Music On The Air", which was a retrospective at the Museum Of Broadcast Communications in Chicago.
"That was a little daunting," he says. "I'm the moderator and Ralph Emery is one of the panelists. Ralph was always in charge of these types of things, not someone else. My goal was simple- don't embarrass yourself in front of a legendary broadcaster."
His love for all kinds of music- Michael frequently quotes Duke Ellington, "There's only two kinds of music- the good kind and the other kind", helped turn a chance meeting into an opportunity to be an on-air personality at a station whose playlist covers all genres from the mid 50's to the 90's. Impressed with his vast knowledge of music and conversational manner on-air, the station owners asked him to launch their new country station. He spent the next few years as music director while also handling on-air duties on both stations.
Other projects took priority and Michael did mostly voice over work through the '10s. Then Music Night came along and here we are... ...yet another chapter about to be written.
